Bond Rally , 1918


 

Film stars Douglas Fairbanks and Charlie Chaplin rally a crowd to kick off the 4th Liberty Loan Drive. Washington, DC September 21, 1918.

The previous loan campaign (the 3rd) was launched by Fairbanks on the steps of the New York Stock Exchange on April 6, 1918. It raised over 4 billion dollars in its one-month run.
