The Hindenburg Arrives Over New York City, May 6, 1937

The giant airship had taken 60 hours to fly from Frankfurt, Germany to New York City. The Hindenburg leisurely circles the city, giving its passengers a rare view of the sights. It then heads across the Hudson River to its landing field at Lakehurst New Jersey. The camera then records the scene as the ship slowly approaches its mooring tower and disaster.
